A message to our clients about COVID-19

Dear Valued Ledyard Clients,

The health and well-being of our clients, employees, vendors and community members is always our top priority. We are actively monitoring the evolving situation on COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) and understand the myriad of concerns we are all experiencing together.  We are following the recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and continue to access guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), local public health officials and national banking associations.  Ledyard's Pandemic Response Team is implementing a number of proactive business continuity plan protocols, managing risks and regularly making adjustments to our plan as the situation evolves.  The ultimate goal is to enact strategies that allow us to continue providing financial services to our clients, while also protecting their health and the health of our employees.

With the practice of good personal hygiene as the cornerstone of our protocols, we've put the following measures in place:

  • Employees will wash their hands immediately upon entering or leaving an office or branch, and frequently throughout the day. 
    • We've also provided instruction on proper technique to contain coughs and sneezes
  • Ensuring that all branches regularly wipe counters, phones, door knobs and other surfaces with disinfectant wipes
  • Placing hand sanitizers in multiple locations throughout our branches and offices
  • Directing our cleaning services to execute deeper cleaning methods using powerful disinfectants
  • Asking employees who feel sick to stay home
  • Requesting that employees learn the symptoms of COVID-19 - such as fever, coughing and shortness of breath - and see their health care provider immediately if they experience those possible indicators
  • Practicing social distancing when feasible and making preparations for work-from-home scenarios
  • Rescheduling, postponing or canceling events that put our employees in close contact with crowds
  • Canceling all business travel, conference attendance and attendance at local business gatherings
  • Working on self-quarantine plans with employees returning from travel
  • Asking employees to inform their supervisors and our HR department if any of their family members are traveling so we can assess risks

While we are currently operating at full capacity, it is important that we plan for any potential impacts and to be in communication with you each step of the way as the situation evolves. While we do not want to create heightened alarm, we do want to be sure that our decisions are proactive and in the best interest of the health and safety of the community in which we all live and work.

Of course, Ledyard has many ways in which clients can engage with us beyond in-person transactions. As always, clients are welcome to use our online banking platform or mobile app for tasks such as checking account balances, making mobile deposits, depositing checks using our remote deposit product, etc.  Further, our ATMs are available 24/7 for things such as withdrawing cash or making deposits.
